We would love to have you participate in this fun adventure. It is very easy and fun :) The winner will receive a basket FULL of parrot goodies. It's not too late to enter, please read below.

Toy making contest for all members. Fun for the whole family!

Rules:

1. $1 per entry, 2 entries per household

2. Use of corn husk only, no other materials, no larger than 8 inches (examples below)3. Entanglement danger cannot be present in the toy

4.Prize: Parrot Gift Basket including, 1 Medium Happy Hut/Snuggle Tent, 1 Medium/Large Manzanita Perch and many other cool items donated to The Beak Squad for this contest. http://www.facebook.com/groups/320735231351961/Tip for making these toys: Soak husks in warm water to make them pliable. To dry the completed toy, place them in a 150 degree oven for about 45 mins. to thoroughly dry them, as we don't want mold/bacteria to grow in the moist husks.

This month we're featuring a "Build Your Own Parrot Play Area Workshop" at our Wildomar location.

This hands-on workshop includes instructions on assembling a hanging play gym for your bird. The play area will accommodate toys and can be used indoors or outdoors*. Cost of workshop includes all needed materials. Similar gyms retail for $150 - $200 making this workshop a fabulous bargain!

*... If used outdoors, your bird should have clipped wings and be closely supervised, or in an appropriate outdoor enclosure.

Parrot Adoption Event - Saturday, September 18th, 2010 from

4-6pm at La Paloma Park in Menifee. 3000 Menifee Road at Bayport. Sponsored by The Beak Squad and its members.

Our adoptable parrots live in foster homes or at rescues. They need loving homes, forever! These feathered kids (FIDS) have been neglected, displaced or have been turned in because their owners could no longer care for them.

No children under the age of 5 please. Interested parties must fill out an adoption application and complete the adoption process. Adoption fees apply and will vary depending on species of the parrot.
